Hope Gleicher, Part Time Interim Director of Nonprofit Montgomery

For more than 25 years, Hope has been working for social change primarily as an entrepreneurial founder and leader with responsibility for nonprofit management, operations and fund development. She served as Founding Executive Director of Health Care for the Homeless from 1984 - 1989, as Founding Executive Director of the Washington Regional Association of Grantmakers from 1991- 1998, and as Founding Executive Director and then President of Trellis Fund from 1998-2006. Hope also served as Assistant Director of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation's multi-site national School Based Adolescent Health Care Program. Most recently, Hope has provided project management and program development services to nonprofit clients such as the Nonprofit Roundtable, the Community Foundation for the National Capital Region, Montgomery County Community Foundation, Kaiser Permanente - Mid Atlantic, Washington Grantmakers and the 8 Neighbors Collaboration. Hope joined Nonprofit Montgomery in December 2009.
Hope earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Macalester College and Masters degrees in social work and public administration from the University of Minnesota. Consistent with her education and career, Hope has been a community volunteer for three decades. Presently, she is vice president of the Board of DC Employment Justice Center, a hospice volunteer at Jewish Social Services Agency and a member of the Advisory Board of Avodah-DC. Hope was honored to chair the 9/11 Community Capacity Fund of Washington Grantmakers in 2001-2002.
