Nonprofit organizations are represented by their CEO. Board members and staff may be active in Nonprofit Montgomery, but some opportunities are only for the CEO. To join, simply complete our membership form online or print the form and mail it in.

Montgomery County is fortunate to have wonderful nonprofit organizations with outstanding leaders. Occasionally these leaders are recognized with awards.

Bethesda Magazine 2010 Green Award









Little Falls Watershed Alliance and The Universities at Shady Grove win Bethesda Magazine 2010 Green Award . Bethesda Magazine recognized seven Green Giants out of 120 nominees for their "unwavering commitment to living - and promoting - a more sustainable way of life."

Catalogue for Philanthropy Recognizes Top Nonprofits

After rigorous evaluation, the Catalogue for Philanthropy highlights excellent community-based nonprofits in the Greater Washington region. The following Montgomery County nonprofits were featured in the 2010-2011 Catalogue for Philanthropy: A Guide to Giving.

Finalist for The Washington Post 2010 Award for Excellence in Nonprofit Management

 The Washington Post hosted by the Center for Nonprofit Advancement recognized The Children’s Inn at NIH as one of five finalists awarded for outstanding achievements in nonprofit management . As an honorable mention recipient, The Children’s Inn at NIH received a $2,500 award.


Phyllis Campbell Newsome Public Policy Leadership Award

Montgomery County Executive Isiah Leggett wins the Phyllis Campbell Newsome Public Policy Leadership Award. The award highlights public officials who have gone above and beyond in partnership with the nonprofit sector to ensure more vibrant communities.
