The event was a huge success, with over 50 nonprofit organizations sharing information and the importance of their services with County employees.
- July 30 Silver Spring Bus Tour
This is the second nonprofit bus tour (the first went to Gaithersburg) and focused on the Silver Spring area of Montgomery County. The bus tours were sponsored by Nonprofit Montgomery! and the Montgomery County Office of Community Partnerships, and illustrated the intrinsic value of nonprofits as partners - educating decision-makers on their impact economically, socially, and overall community health.
- July 23 Funding EXPO
Over 160 people attended this event, hosted by Nonprofit Montgomery! at the Jewish Community Center. The Funding EXPO enabled nonprofit leaders to meet representatives from County agencies and learn about county funding opportunities, get tips on grant writing from local experts, hear from foundation leaders about what they look for when reviewing a proposal, and learn how to advocate for their projects and programs.
- On July 17, The Nonprofit Roundtable hosted a 2-1-1 National Capital Region Workshop for human services providers, information and referral representatives and other interested regional partners. Roundtable Members were invited to attend. Participants learned about regional and national 2-1-1 initiatives as well as 2-1-1 experiences from the Gulf Coast Hurricane Katrina and California wildfire disasters.
