Nonprofit organizations are represented by their CEO. Board members and staff may be active in Nonprofit Montgomery, but some opportunities are only for the CEO. To join, simply complete our membership form online or print the form and mail it in.

Foreclosure rates around the country are increasing at an alarming rate each month and Montgomery County is no exception.  

The Nonprofit Roundtable has created The Foreclosure Network which will bring together leaders from Northern Virginia, Maryland and DC to work on the Foreclosure Crisis.

Beyond Charity Cover

What difference do nonprofits make? What’s the “value proposition” of the region’s nonprofit sector? Impact! Our everyday experience is that nonprofits raise the quality of life for all of us in the region, and that nonprofits are the lifeline for our most vulnerable neighbors. But how well do we measure and communicate our impact?  As leaders in the nonprofit sector, we need to work together to better “make the case” about the impact that nonprofits make. We’d like to improve how well leaders in government and business and the media understand the contributions of the sector. (Part of this work is funded by the World Bank's Community Outreach program.)

REPORT: The Census recently released data from the 2009 American Community Survey which show a more accurate picture of poverty rates, median household incomes and housing costs in Maryland.

SURVEY: For the first time ever, Nonprofit Montgomery surveyed candidates for County Executive and County Council about who they are and what they believe.  The results of our 2010 Candidates' Questionnaire appear by seat, in alphabetical order and in their own words - - without edits.

REPORT: The Community Foundation for the National Capital Region released A Region Responds which focuses on their Neighbors in Need Fund, "a response to the economic downturn and subsequent need for food, shelter, clothing and financial support in our region." 

PRESENTATION: The Think Twice Before You Slice Campaign introduced this presentation about the Think Twice message in Montgomery County.

REPORT: Maryland Nonprofits released Nonprofits by the Numbers 2009 which shows significant growth in the nonprofit sector in recent years

REPORT:  Maryland Nonprofits released Nonprofits and Recessions which reveals that despite the recession, nonprofit employment in Maryland has increased

The Foundation Center

The Foundation Center supports nonprofits and grantmakers, providing useful tools and information they can trust.

The Foundation Center also maintains the most comprehensive database on U.S. grantmakers and their grants.   This database can be accessed through the Center's computers or the Rockville Public Library.
