The Healthy Montgomery community health improvement process is a community-based effort to improve the health and well-being of Montgomery County residents that is supported by the Healthy Montgomery Web site. This Web site is a one-stop source of population-based data and information about community health and the social and environmental determinants of health, such as socio-economic status, social isolation, housing, availability of healthy foods, and air quality, in Montgomery County and healthy communities in general.
REPORT: The Census recently
released data from the 2009 American CommunitySurvey which show a more accurate picture of poverty rates,
median household incomes and housing costs in Maryland.
SURVEY: For the first time ever, Nonprofit Montgomery surveyed candidates for
County Executive and County Council about who they are and what they
believe. The results of our 2010 Candidates' Questionnaire appear by
seat, in alphabetical order and in their own words - - without edits.
REPORT:The Community Foundation for the National Capital Region released A Region Responds which focuses on their Neighbors in Need Fund, "a response to the economic downturn and subsequent need for food, shelter, clothing and financial support in our region."
