In its first year of operation, Nonprofit Montgomery! established outcomes for each element of its mission of building the collective strength, visibility and influence of the county’s nonprofit sector.
2007 Accomplishments
Collective Influence:
- Began an ongoing working relationship with department heads across county government to work toward adjustments in the county's contracting and procurement processes
- Improved funding process for nonprofits in the county executive and county council offices
- Increased interaction with staff from county council and county executive's offices through monthly brown bags
Collective Strength:
- Established a core network of nonprofits leaders who are committed to building the Nonprofit Montgomery network
- Engaged over 350 nonprofit leaders in convenings
- Over 160 nonprofit leaders participated in the 2007 Funding EXPO
Collective Visibility:
- Increased collaboration between funders and nonprofits on specific projects
- Increased interaction and collaborative work among nonprofit leaders
- Held a kick off event for the County Charitable Giving Campaign which increased county government face to face exposure to nonprofits
